Gibson the Chiweenie really needs a home

I’m fostering a very sweet dachshund chihuahua mix named Gibson. Gibson is 7, which is about human equivalent of 40s for this mix. He is housebroken, neutered, and chipped. He is current on all his major vaccines. He comes with his little blankies, which he loves to nest under, a bed, leash, food bowl, and some food.

He’s a good little man and wants nothing more than to hang out with you–either on your lap or curled up on the floor. He’s good with other dogs (there is some pack dynamics). He wants a buddy to play with. His old companion found a new home. Kids would be fine as long as they’re 6+ and respectful of his space. He’s really tired of my toddler, so not a great fit with young ones.

He would be an awesome dog for a retiree who is taking it easy and likes to watch lots of TV. Or a young couple. Or a work-from-home programmer or gamer. Anyone who is around a fair amount. He’s not destructive when I leave, he just really misses me.

He came from a young man who had just had twins and was in the process of moving with no assurance of pet-friendly housing. His owner was incredibly sad, so I offered to help and would really, really like to find him an equally loving home. SOON! I’ve got my hands full with a bad back, little kiddos, and my own quota of furballs, so if anyone can reach out and contact dog-friendly people who fit the bill, I would be most grateful.
