gregsalmonParticipantJust witnessed some children on SW 42nd using fireworks. There was an adult female with them. Just south of Brandon. Are fireworks legal in this area?

gregsalmonParticipantJust noticed they are still at it. Is there any agency that will respond?

WSBKeymasterCall 911. They are overloaded on the 4th but on other nights I’ve heard them dispatch for fireworks.

gregsalmonParticipantWent down there at 1105 and asked them to stop. One of the adults asked me if I was okay or if I needed some therapy.

miwsParticipantgregsalmon, to your point of legality in this area, within the Seattle city limits they are illegal at *all* times, including; July 4th, New Year’s Eve, Seahawks touchdowns, Seahawks wins.
Sorry you had to deal with that, and with the snotty attitude.

anonymeParticipantThere were quite a few fireworks in Arbor Heights yesterday, day and night. One bomb sounded much larger than an M-80. I saw something that was quite disturbing. I was working outside and heard/saw the rocket go up. It exploded near some birds that were flying over. Their flight became very erratic, struggling. They were clearly injured in some way. They fluttered some distance, then disappeared. I also saw the debris fall from the sky onto neighbor’s property. I’m still finding crap in my yard.
The only explanation as to why this idiocy is still going on is that stupid is forever.

22bladesParticipantWhen these people get cited, they should do community service time in a burn unit. I volunteered at one during the Vietnam War. It clears your mind…

J242ParticipantFireworks are illegal and a nuisance to the public with detrimental health effects for many veterans, pets, small children, and more.
I will NEVER understand why people feel the need to “blow stuff up” whith no regard to their neighbors. Carry a super soaker with you and defuse them yourself, the cops never show up when you call them for fireworks even when jerks are launching mortar shells at you intentionally. (First hand experience out on Delridge 3 years and counting)In short, no tolerance for the jerks who think their amusement at stuff going “boom” is more important that their fellow citizens’ safety and overall well being.
Why cant we get the cops to make their money by cracking down on these jerks?!!? Does it have to come down to us policing the area ourselves? WTF? SPD, you need to step up your game and pay for your own budget by slapping these jerks with the fines that are expected. Doing nothing just makes them feel that it’s all okay and they’ll keep doing it. It’s well past time to slap them upside the head with some fines and DON’T let them plead out of paying them! Be a jerk, pay for it.
