HRGDIVINGParticipantGlobal Diving & Salvage, Inc. (Global) is the largest diving contractor on the West Coast, based out of Seattle, WA, a leading provider of marine construction and infrastructure support services in the United States, and an internationally recognized casualty responder.
We are currently seeking a Field Engineer/Estimator to join our team in Seattle. This position is responsible for the identification, tracking and submission of bids and technical proposals as well as providing support to inland and offshore construction projects.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Tracking and indentifying opportunities
Reviewing plans and specifications and completing quantity take-off
Determining means and methods
Developing an estimate to include all associated costs i.e. labor, material, subcontractor and equipment costs
Participating in site visits
Transitioning successful bids to active job status
Onsite support of projects(planning, material and equipment procurement, client interface and cost tracking)
Other duties as assignedQualifications
Education
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related degree or relevant years of experienceExperience
Work history as a commercial diver preferred
Supervision or field engineering in a marine or heavy civil construction environment
Estimating and bidding projects ranging from 50K to 1 mil
Subsea construction experience including diving operationsKnowledge/Skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required
Experience with estimating software (HCSS preferred)
Ability to read and understand project specifications and engineering plans and drawings
Capacity to participate in all phases of the estimating and bidding process to win work on hard bid, design/build and technical proposals
Proactive approach to problem solving
Detail orientated and technically sound
Strong work ethic
Ability to work independently as well as collaborating with the teamPhysical / Mental Requirements
Ability to perform work in an office or field setting
