Is there anyone in West Seattle (or nearby) doing safe and effective electrolysis? I am reluctant to go with a yellow pages ad for such a delicate service. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

I go to Joanne Zwickert’s office in downtown. It’s a little out of my way from WS, but they are professional, clean, easy to schedule with, and reliable. I’m a fan of Olivia, but all the technicians there are great.

I used to go to a one lady shop in U district, but I got so frustrated with how hard it was to schedule with her, and then she’d cancel on me at the last minute, so I like the added security that IF my lady has an emergency I can at least go to someone else if my schedule is tight.

In WS there’s Westside Dermatolgy right across the street from the True Value.

There are a couple of laser techs there in Dr. Arntzen’s office.

Much less pain and so much quicker.

Had laser and then electrolysis. Laser is fda approved for hair “reduction” and electrolysis is permanant hair removal process. One results in fewer hairs (the ones that are darker or have more contrast from the surrounding skin; the other destroys the follicle. So after years (yes years) of laser turning my light blond hair to ash and then having it return again and again (at 105 – 150 per session in those days), I do electr and am down to literally 3 hairs I have done every 6 weeks or so at about 15 per session depending on if I add legs, eyebrows, armpits, etc. And, laying under the warm light listening to music feels, to me, like laying in the hot sun on a beach. Seriously (but then laser didn’t hurt me either so maybe I have a high tolerance – now don’t get me started on the pain of waxing YIKES). So it’s Patty at Joanne Zwickert’s for me. She’s gentle, very interesting, born and raised in Seattle but is a world traveller so I never tire of hearing stories while I relax under the light.
