Well, y’know, Jan, people have their preferences and things that might not seem like a big deal to other people, but are a big deal to them. Personally, I do get upset if someone calls me by a name, especially a nickname, that I haven’t ascribed to myself or told them they can use. You can say that’s taking myself too seriously if you like, but names are a sensitive thing for some people.

I just don’t see what’s so hard about calling people by the names they’ve given you to call them, that’s all. Anything else seems kinda rude.

And, that’s probably enough derailment of the topic at hand…

Hi All: So, Dr. Duckitude would be a stretch… heehee… but, please, I agree with datamuse, the analysis of the use of so-called “nicknames” could be a book. You may remember how George Bush, Jr. used nicknames… it was all about putting people “in their place.”

As for CSO control, I AM ALL FOR IT. In fact, I argued as much as possible, and I did the number crunching to prove it, that the tank they are building is TOO SMALL. They should be building a bigger tank or connected tanks close to each other that would hold way more than 1 million gallons. However, you can’t cram that one into a small residential neighborhood.

    .

Are you kidding? Do I support CSO construction? Yes, but rationally! Heck, I sailboard on the Sound from Lowman Beach Park, almost exclusively. However, there is more than one way to build a tank with respect for community wishes, needs, and safety.

I’ve been called “twit” on here, and sometimes other stuff..it’s all relative…I let it roll off my back. But…we’re all different…makes the world go ’round :)
