Colbert is brilliant. Rumsfeld has postured as an intellectual for far too long when in fact he’s mostly glib. By referencing the “known unknowns” and “unknown unknown” themes and pointing out the obvious deceit, the “unknown knowns,” played by the neocons in the Bush administration, Colbert clearly caught Rummey unable to deflect in his characteristic manner. So much more satisfying than saying “you were really just deceiving the American people about the intelligence, weren’t you?”
