Ok looking at cutting the cord and getting just internet or internet and phone from Comcast or Century link. The speed would be 40mb Century link or 50mb comcast. We would get an antenna for locals and probably use Sling TV and maybe Hulu.
    My questions are:
Is 40mb of century link fast enough to stream HD content?
Anyone have the 40meg Century Link Internet and does it work well?
    What modem did you get?

Do some research on Centurylink, especially here on these forums. There have been quite a lot of negative comments about them. Comcast isn’t known for stellar customer service either, but I’ve been using them for internet-only service, and streaming. We have the “performance 25” internet service for $60/month, and it’s fine for Netflix, HBO Now, and other streaming services. Rarely goes down. We use an AppleTV for streaming, and have an HD tv antenna on the rare occasion that we want to watch something over broadcast. I’d never go back to regular cable.
