In the last six months to a year I have noticed web pages are getting all hinky when trying to load – thinking, jumping up and down, data disappearing, etc… I heard websites and their ads now have so much data that current connection speeds can’t process optimally. Has anyone else noticed? Or is it something wrong with my system? Thoughts?

I *have* noticed this, mainly on the front page of the WSB. It loads, then hangs for a loooonnnnng time. Then finally responds. I’m very glad to hear I’m not the only one.

It sounds more like one or more issues with your browser than with Comcast or your system hardware. Have you tried an alternate browser? I primarily use Firefox, but find that some sites work better with Internet Explorer or Edge (Microsoft’s successor to IE), and I sometimes use Chrome as well. If the browser is the problem, you might be using an add-on or two that conflicts with how the Web page was coded.
Since you mentioned Comcast in your header, you might want to check the quality of your internet connection as well. Comcast has some suggestions on how to go about that: https://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/internet/Troubleshooting/

    Good luck.

Check your browser (Avoid IE like the plague if you can avoid it, some sites require it based on ActiveX components but the overwhelming majority do not), check your browser add-ons and disable any/all you do not use consistently, clear your cache & cookies and check how many background processes/apps you have running at the OS level. Computers are not unlike cars in that you need to maintain services like oil changes with the occasional radiator flush, fluids top offs, etc.

In general, Comcast is pretty reliable and is definitely the best provider in the area but that’s not saying much when the only competition is the horrifically bad CLink.

I use Chrome and have this problem only with this site.
Also, sigh, I still don’t get follow-up replies via email (I did check the spam folder).
