Are there any kind hearted friends out there who might like to see Nickelsville add alittle Christmas cheer to their life and area? I’m saying 2 trees because of there being an east and west section to the area. We managed one last year and they were so happy. Of course there will be a need for simple decorations. JoB and I did a hot cocoa and cookies decorating party for them last year. Anyone interested for this time? I can assure you that most there would be so appreciative of any Christmas spirit sent their way. I would be so happy to do it all myself but that is totally impossible.

That’s a good start. Only problem is I don’t drive– so hope someone can take care of this. I can only suggest it. I have a time just finding a volunteer to take me with lunch every Saturday. If I can’t find a driver now and then I’ll have to quit and don’t really want to. As it is I need someone for this Saturday.

I have a vehicle capable of carrying a Christmas tree or 2, provided they weren’t coming from too far away.

Some of the lots are already giving to charity – Holy Rosary, Holy Family, Son In Law. Not sure about the policies of the business-run lots but they are (in this area):

    Junction True-Value

    Home Depot

    both Rite-Aids

    West Seattle Nursery

    Tony’s

    McLendon

Can someone give me an idea of how many folks are living with animals at Nicklesville? I’m working on an idea. Thank you ahead of time!!

I can help bring some trees too and might have some decorations. How can we get into contact with you?

I live in an apartment building, no place to hold them so will have to go right to Nickelsville.

They’ll make stands, I’m sure. Someone did last year. I go there with lunch Saturday and can find out if they have anything to decorate left from last year. Can catch me at bjhallt at hotmail. com.

Betty do you still need a ride to Nickelsville on Saturday?

I have some Duck ornaments that can be donated to the tree. I got them a couple of years ago from Duckitude at the West Seattle Duck Reserve that I won in a raffle.

Do they have power for lights? If so I have some old lights I can donate as well as $$ for a tree.

Email me or post on here and I will drop off to you Betty (rockergirl5678@yahoo.com)- also a list of kids would be good so we can gift them things they might need or enjoy. Thanks for all you do and for bringing the spirit to Nickelsville every week!

This is Jeff at egreen landscaping/West Seattle Landscape and Stone Supply. We’ll be happy to donate a tree to Nicklesville. Just call me at the office and arrange to come get it or if you get truly stuck for getting it there, let me know and I can probably drop it off Saturday. We’re open 7 days a week until 12/23. 206-763-7625

Yes I do need a ride for Saturday for a 12:30 pickup where I live. Please email me bjhallt at hotmail dot com and we can exchange phone numbers. You can take whatever you have. I’m taking a large soup pot, garlic bread, coffee container, hot cocoa, brownies & box of newspapers for the fires. Also a large plastic tote with my supplies. So you have an idea how much to take. Contact me right away as by Wednesday I’ll be “shouting out” for help on here.

    Thank you so much.

Last year we donated a Shell gas card so they were able to have lights for little while after dark.

If someone of you takes a tree to them please let me know here.

I can do the pickup/drop off Saturday, if that works for everyone – maybe some sort of something in conjunction with lunch?

Thanks and can you take the wood Jeff offered too?

Charla is picking me up at 12:30 and I try to do lunch at 1:00PM. Maybe see you there?

I’m wondering if people will just spur-of-the-moment drop off trees. If that should happen, will find someone who needs one I guess.
