We are looking for a mature, female caregiver to work in our West Seattle home. Shift will likely consist of one weekend day, either Saturday or Sunday throughout spring and summer, with a commitment of approximately one 7-9 hour shift each weekend (actual dates/times will vary and be scheduled with plenty of advanced notice). You will be caring for our 83 year old mother, who has vascular dementia. This means she has trouble remembering how to carry out simple daily tasks. Duties include assistance with personal care/hygiene, light meal prep and general companionship. Must be kind/compassionate and have excellent communication skills, be responsive and able to report/articulate any possible changes in emotional/physical status. Ideal candidate will be local and have reliable transportation; is punctual and will be available to start in March/April, have care-giving experience, and some history with elderly patients is a plus, but not required. Hours may increase and this position may become long-term, if it’s a good fit. Pay rate approx $15/hr DOE, Background check and references required.
