So over the past week I’ve been struggling with my girlfriends car. Two tires were deflated flat. After taking it to the car shop the they say someone put push pins in the sidewall of the tire causing the tires to be un-repairable. Has anyone had any problems with malicious behavior like that? Any ideas on how to avoid it?

This is really frustrating because I think it is someone specifically targeting the car.

Be sure to report it to police if you haven’t already. As you can see from links on our Crime Watch page, we’ve had lots of reports of tire-type vandalism in recent weeks. – TR

    Hey Mike0323 –

Highland Park Action Committee meets once a month at the Highland Park Community Bldg. on Holden. There is usually a community police officer there.

Also, TONIGHT the White Center/South Delridge Community Safety meeting, St. James Place, 9421 18th Avenue SW, 6 pm (dinner served!). These folks address the South Delridge area – not just HP.

BTW, you might want to think about getting the car off the street if that is where you are keeping it. But, also, if it’s any consolation to you, some punksters have taken to unscrewing and removing the finials off of my fence posts. Again.

    Knuckleheads.

So, as TR reiterates on an oh-so-regular basis, call the cops and show up at the neighborhood association and/or safety meetings if you can.

    Good luck.
