AnonymousInactiveadd – Love it!
March 26, 2008 at 10:22 pm #620041
AimParticipantI love it too! I have a friend at work who makes LOVELY jewelry and happens to live in WS (Jackie are you lurking?) I wonder if she would run a class…

It came up when I put
kinsley
in the search box top right.
The search box doesn’t do boolean (since we are very well-indexed on Google if you think you need to try a boolean query, you can go there too) but it does a pretty good job otherwise.

charlabobParticipantThanks, LB! I must have typed something wrong (nah, that couldn’t be.)

ShibaguyzMemberJust tell me where to send a gift certificate to. I’ll send along two. I’m the studio manager for the Arthur Murray School of Dance in Downtown Seattle. I’ll send certificates for free dance lessons. Those always go over big at these types of events.
Give me an address and they will be in the mail by the end of the week!
March 27, 2008 at 2:16 am #620045
DJSonstengMemberHow much longer will you be accepting donations? I’m trying to come up with something for you but it will take me a little while.
March 27, 2008 at 2:53 am #620046
beachdrivegirlParticipantYou can dontate items up until the Thursday before the event. The event is still @ least 2-3 wks out and will be announced. You can drop items off on Saturday @ the Uptown Espresso, or feel free to email me @ meallen1982@yahoo.com and I can meet you to pick them up or feel free to mail them to me at my work address: Megan Allen POA 1064 4th AVE S Seattle WA 98134. We really do appreciate all of the donations We currently have at least 7 items donated including: dog grooming, massages, artwork, photography, mariner’s tickets’ and more! This is very exciting and we appreciate what a great supportive community we are all apart of!!

ShibaguyzMemberbeachdrivegirl – what is the non-profit org that you all set up for this fundraiser? Doesn’t there have to be a certain legal filing status? Because we are an internationally franchised business, I have to have that information to donate. As soon as you get it, contact me and let me know so I can get those two gift certificates in the mail or drop them off to you. I just have to have my admin fill out the proper donation forms with the non-profit number on it. Thanks!!

JanSParticipant:) to the top
March 27, 2008 at 8:43 am #620049
JanSParticipantdamn, I bumped this to the top and then posted somewhere else…it’s bedtime now… :) back to the top – lol…
March 27, 2008 at 2:39 pm #620050
beachdrivegirlParticipantOnce we get the exact non-poftit that will be assisting us I will get teh information out to you. I know that was on our list of things to do between Mondays meeting and todays’s. Thanks, Megan
March 27, 2008 at 5:30 pm #620051
ShibaguyzMemberExcellent, I’ll check back in later today for the information then get that sent out tomorrow morning.
March 27, 2008 at 5:39 pm #620052
AnonymousInactiveShibaguyz – That is so awesome that you want to contribute! The group is right now looking into the non-profit issues, however, I’m not sure if that will definitely all come together. This whole thing is extremely informal in the sense that it’s, basically, a group of friends all getting a party together to help another friend.
Obviously, if this is going to be something that we continue to do in this community (and it looks like it might), we will be looking into starting our own non-profit.
Again, I just wanted to let you know that it is, for right now anyways, very informal.
If you are unable to donate the gift certificates due to this fact, how about just donating your personal time to teach some classes?
We will definitely let you know for sure as soon as we have more information! Thank you again!
March 27, 2008 at 7:06 pm #620053
AnonymousInactivePlease add tennis lessons to the donation. Maybe two days worth (1-2 hours a day). The instructor used to play semi-pro!
Also, I’m thinking that a gift basket full of cheese, chocolate and red wine would be a HUGE hit with this group!
March 27, 2008 at 7:34 pm #620054
beachdrivegirlParticipantI will put it on the list! And I think you are onto somethign with the gift basket… i have seemed to pick up on a trend lately. :)

andreaParticipantHere’s another one to add…multiple free month gym memberships with free personal training at Freedom Fitness Gym in Burien!
I’ll bring the certificates to the meeting on Saturday!
March 28, 2008 at 2:04 am #620057
JanSParticipantandrea……that’s terrific…
March 28, 2008 at 2:35 am #620058
beachdrivegirlParticipantI agree that is terrific!!! i have put them on the list!! Again thank you all. It honestly proud to say I am from W.Seattle!
March 28, 2008 at 3:30 am #620059
AnonymousInactiveWould there be any interest in Hotwheels? They are out of the package but have never been played with by children. I could easily put together a basket/box of at least a 100. And in case anyone wonders why a middle age woman has so many toy cars, well just keep wondering:)
I have loved cars since childhood but was not allowed to have any because they were for boys only. I never grew out of liking them. I wish I could afford the real thing, but the toy ones are all that ever fit my budget. I’ve been collecting them since the late 80’s. To all the *real* collectors, I know they only have value still in the package, but I never wanted them for that. I like to enjoy my toys!
Anyway, another adult who likes cars or a parent getting a gift for their child might like some(?) If not, the girlfriend has threatened to turn them into art b/c I have way too many.

RickMemberMy barber shop burned 13 years ago 2 so I can relate to getting burned out. I walk by the lock shop twice a day and each time I pass I’m reminded of my determination of trying to “keep it together” and then actually putting it back together, so I wish Mike the best and will donate some ‘cuts for the cause.
March 28, 2008 at 5:23 am #620061
AnonymousInactiveRick – Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We will definitely be in contact with you!
Also, please come to the fund raiser! Saturday, April 19th at Admiral Pub!
March 28, 2008 at 2:20 pm #620062
karenParticipantI’ve got a pair of pink flamingos in the original box. OK it’s a weird time but they are no longer being made and maybe someone would be interested!?!
Let me know if you want them – if not, no worries.
March 28, 2008 at 2:40 pm #620063
charlabobParticipantThe *value* of NIB Pink Flamingos is anywhere from $20 – $50. Purchase price (at least when I bought my 6) was $6.95. They’ve done better than any of my stocks.
Speaking on behalf of nobody except myself :-) I think we want them. I’d propose a kitsch table — which I would even volunteer to staff. Actually, I want to buy the flamingos and JTs matchbox cars — (Bob, if you’re reading … skip right by this thread.)
March 29, 2008 at 1:09 am #620064
AnonymousInactiveShibaguyz – I promised that we would get back to you, so I wanted to follow up. We have found out that a non-profit cannot support an individual or an individual business. Unfortunately (or fortunately), this is very informal.
It looks like if you would like to donate dance lessons, it would have to be a personal donation. Please let us know because I assume that would be a big hit at the fund raiser!
