I’m currently out of town, but see that Yelp! is reporting that Buddha Ruksa has shut down. Can anyone confirm or correct this?

Until somebody can actually confirm for you, FWIW, Yelp has claimed on at least one occasion, and it seems like I heard on one other occasion, that a business had closed when indeed it hadn’t.

Let’s hope that’s the case here.

They are open, not sure what Yelp is talking about. Just closed on Mondays.

I’ve noticed that when searching for restaurants outside their open hours, YELP will show them to be closed. Doesn’t mean its closed permanently. I agree that it appears to be misleading, it would probably be better to say Closed at this time, will reopen on {date} at {time}.

Considering the confusion regarding Yelp’s wording in regards to a restaurant being closed, I would strongly urge in any case where the site claims “Closed Permanently”, as I’m 99% sure it did so in the case of the instance I remember for sure, that anyone knowing for a fact that the business is not permanently closed, contact Yelp immediately and let them know! It sure seems a fair amount of damage could be done with the misinformation, even if it’s that the business loses a few customers on one particular day.

As I recall, (memory is fuzzy on this) the closure claim in the instance I’m remembering was Yelp user-driven, and not directly from Yelp reps.

I think I tried to go to the business’ Yelp page myself, to undo the “Permanently Closed”, but was locked out from making any changes. In contacting Yelp, I believe they said that happens when there’s too much of that type of activity on a page, and they lock it out until they can confirm it for themselves.

Seems like Yelp should be the only one that can post such info on a page after they have thoroughly researched and confirmed it.

Maybe they only do that for the businesses that pay them for favorable reviews being at the top of the page and such.

It does say at the top of the Yelp page:
“Yelpers report this location has closed. Find a similar spot.”

I wonder if someone(s) reported it closed out of some kind of misguided spite?

Well, if it ever does close, go check out Thaitan for their amazing crack – I mean garlic – chicken. It’s better than Buddha Ruska’s and there’s parking and no wait time,

Non-local sites are notoriously inaccurate. Please don’t even think someplace is closed until you have confirmed it directly with the business and/or at least seen it reported here (we don’t publish rumors, we verify). You’re also welcome to text/call us any time at 206-293-6302 – since the forum is a reader-initiated area, we don’t see most posts unless we are flagged (and I only saw this one because I am investigating a report of a held reply in another thread). We spend a fair amount of time verifying (mostly debunking) rumors … TR

I use Tripadvisor religiously but am occasionally surprised by the inaccurate info other reviewers leave behind. You can report those. I was able to report that Buddha Ruksa isn’t closed.

Bump for no reason other than that it’s great.

I’m there right now – not only open, but packed.
