They have a Open Table reservation thing on their website, I used it.

Wonder if it really went anywhere?

We went last night. Lovely, lovely service. Delicious food. We had a green salad, the rabbit with mustard sauce, cassoulet, and a lemon tart. I had a Cotes du Rhone that made me very, very happy and complemented the food. The salad was delicious. Perfectly dressed, bright, and fresh. The rabbit, served on a bed or greens and thinly sliced potatoes, was tasty, but oh that mustard sauce! So good. Duck’s one of my favorite proteins and it didn’t disappoint in the cassoulet. The beans were slightly underseasoned, but that’s a small complaint. What a delightful place and it felt friendlier and warmer than before the new ownership.

I’m a vegetarian who “cheats” when there’s French onion soup on the menu! Check out their website for the menu – and look on the lower right of the screen, where there’s a cool little chart showing sunsets and tides (“maree” is French for “tide.”)

Went there last night as well. Nice atmosphere. Food was good – hubby had the rabbit and I had the gnocchi with the green salad. Crete brûlée was nice. Nothing was exceptional to warrant the high price; $10 glasses of wine. Had to try it, but don’t know that I’d be back.

R.e. Parentof2’s comment: I think the price is warranted. Rent is high on Alki, they use high quality, local ingredients, and they are well staffed. If you remove any one of those factors, they could easily charge Elliot Bay Brewery prices. Remove two of those and they could charge far less. When we went, we got what we paid for: high quality food and unintrusive but thorough service.

@ Jeannie: Why is FOS not vegetarian? The cheese on the bread toasts? BTW, I have a killer recipe for FOS, but it takes time.

I would like to go for the duck because that is one of the few dishes I cannot seem to master and fresh duck is spendy especially when you don’t cook it well like me.

We ate here on Thursday and were really happy with our orders. I had salad vert and onion soup, he had the coq au vin. The wines were great, as was the food. Two thumbs up!

We went Friday night. I had the cassoulet and my wife had the seafood stew. Both were quite yummy. The cassoulet was enough for there to be leftovers for lunch yesterday. With an appetizer / salad it could probably be split by two.

It was a lovely, well served, leisurely dinner.

It is out of our range for a ‘regular’ type place (Though we want to try happy hour for sure!) but for the occasional splurge we’ll definitely be back.
