CarsonParticipantSounds good Mirabile, but $25 is my limit!

mirabileMemberNo doubt! I’m sure that $25 is enough to get a burger worth relishing.

SarahScootParticipant$17 for a burger makes a lot more sense than $17 for a pasta dish, yet I rarely see anyone bat an eye at the latter. As Chris pointed out, there are some pricey ingredients that go into that burger and fries.
Note: I have not had the Spring Hill burger, so I cannot comment on whether or not it is delicious.

JanSParticipantSarah Scoot..you’re absolutely right…we do tend to look the other way…and pasta is not that expensive to make. But, then, look at Canlis’ prices…and plenty of people pay that , too..and take the snooty abuse for underdressing – lol.Their top end steak had better have gold leaf on it, and while I understand that the Canlis salad is delicious, it’s still JUST a salad…common ingredients, and it costs almost as much as Mark Fullers burger!
Any reviews of Canlis out there? I hear they have a decent burger, too.
And, Christopher. I noticed that the meat supplier in the NYT story is Creekstone Farms. I’ve been getting beef from Amazon Fresh – it’s Creekstone..Black Angus..decent, for sure. They have some already cut beef for kabobs that melts in your mouth.

JoBParticipantI am not a burger connoisseur..
but the pups have had leftovers from most of West Seattle’s burger choices…
they have a definite preference for zippy’s.
I have never understood the rationale for paying top dollar for a sandwich when you can get a really incredible sandwich in this town for under ten dollars.
I’m not too keen on paying $17 for pasta either :(

LisaMParticipantAny particularly good veggie-burgers in West Seattle?
February 27, 2013 at 7:55 pm #707371
SueParticipantLisaM, I’m particularly addicted to the Lentil Burger at Chaco Canyon. Not a true “veggie burger” in what you might be asking for, but it’s burger-ish and vegan. :) It’s on this beautiful soft panino roll and has a thousand island-type dressing. Very messy and the ultimate in vegetarian comfort food. It’s a shame they don’t sell fries with it. :)

bsmommaParticipantZippy’s Burgers are my fave (plus they have beer battered onion rings) BUT if I had to choose another fave, it would have to be the ChopChop burger at Jaks. It’s in the shape of a hoagie bun on a delicious hoagie bun!

HMC RichParticipantI second the Lentil Burger at Chaco Canyon. (For a non-beef burger).

bailecyclistParticipantGotta go with Pepperdock’s for the overall experience. Love to watch those burgers grilling.
February 28, 2013 at 12:58 am #707375
WorldCitizenParticipantPepperdock’s burger has satisfied me when I’m “desperate” for a burger, but it’s pretty *meh*…great view, though.
