of course you have to sign up(follow instructions at http://www.shopmyexchange.com), and provide proof of being a vet. A DD 214 should do the trick..just scan and upload to the site. Shopping there is tax free, and if you spend 50 bucks or more , delivery is free. Does not allow you to shop in the exchange in person. That’s still reserved for active military.

I know that not everyone likes to shop online, but this can provide options when comparing prices. I’m signing up, for sure.

I wonder if they’d recognize me – years ago, different war, different name. I may try it.

Waynster – follow the link and check again. Apparently they’re going to start letting veterans with honorable discharges access the exchanges online as JanS described in the first post. We still won’t be able to step on base and purchase in person. I’m checking with a few of my active duty and fully retired vet friends to check and confirm – and I’m getting my DD 214 scanned into my computer (I needed to do that ages ago).

yes, this is a new thing, expanding the online privilege to us everyday, ordinary (or not so ordinary-lol) vets.
