Garden coaching and garden design may overlap a bit, but are not the same thing. Design would involve a graph with plant names – which is way, way more work than you might think. Hiring a designer will run you either around $75 per hour or a fixed estimate, and would include consultation and time for researching and completing the drawing.
Hiring a coach is a good way to get site specific advice that is just not possible while talking to a busy nursery salesperson. A coach can not only make planting recommendations, but also give advice on maintenance, health, and rehab issues in the garden.
