I don’t really expect anyone to admit that they allow their 12/13 year-old to wander the streets between 5:30 and 6:00 in the morning, because really, 6:00AM on a Monday? Might I be so bold as to suggest that perhaps it deserves a conversation at home though?

Two in hooded sweatshirts were in the area of Dakota Place Park, lighting firecrackers and a TNT Golden Dragon canister that shoots “7 flaming balls” – ooooh, aaaaah. The spent remnants have been collected. Various neighbors saw different parts of the shenanigans, but it was easy enough to piece together and next time, the police will be called. We’ve had fires started around here by fireworks in the past and have far too many elderly and disabled neighbors that would be in a world of hurt if it happened to them. Fireworks are stupid - and illegal - anyway, but I can think of a million better places for kids that age to be before the sun comes up.

Funny you should mention... I'm on 42nd & Andover, and on my way back from dropping my daughter off at school this morning, I noticed the spent remains of a fireworks canister sitting in the road (on 42nd, toward the roundabout on Dakota). Found it pretty odd, given the time of year, and I don't recall hearing anything last night or early this morning. I'm guessing they made the rounds.

Saw three middle-aged kids there...a couple of weeks ago. Asked myself why they weren't in school at 9:00 a.m. on a normal school day.

interesting, carrieann; sounds like they were up & down Dakota, thank you.

and, angelescrest, in all fairness, I noticed that Holy Rosary was out on 9/18, but if it wasn't that day, then yeah, good question!
