Three cheers for the West Seattle Blog!!! Congrats!
That is impressive, and WSB should be proud!
Dang! Congrats, WSB! That is quite the shout out!
Congrats WSB!!
Mike
The next thing we will be reading is in the 1098 comment section...."my name is Patrick, my wife Tracy and I run a small local online newspaper. We expect to make over $400,000 year...and hope to hire a new reporter"!!
I love the Economist. That and Golf Weekly!
Wow! This is a really, really big deal. Congrats!
Major congrats (and thanks for the pointer, Bertha). WSB is in excellent (for the most part) company. The article is insightful and worth reading. I read a version in Columbia Journalism Review but he didn't name names. Seriously TR and P, you definitely rock -- and to think -- we knew you when.
Thanks for the kind words, all, just noticed this got posted here. We heard about it via Twitter on Sunday. We knew Mr. Rosen was familiar with our work but not that he thought so highly of it :) He is one of two co-sponsors of a national summit for community-news sites next month; I'm being flown there for a couple days to be on one of its panels, so I'm looking forward to meeting him (and thanking him) - on behalf of not just us but everybody who is part of WSB ... it's not a 2-person operation, it's a community effort in a million zillion ways. This is kind of the cherry atop a great month ... we won't know till morning but this month may break the longstanding WSB record for pageviews (829,500-something, set in the fabled Snowpocalypse month of December 2008). Thanks again for the kind words and for being here.
Wow. To be mentioned in that group is amazing. Very, very impressive. You can bet a lot of kids in journalism schools -- and reporters looking to grow beyond their existing niches -- are watching WSB and trying to figure out how they can do what you do in their communities. Congratulations.
very well done..
and thanks for letting us know how Mr Rosen knew about you..
