Okay, WSB, help! I need a last minute dress and I reeeally don't want to leave WS, but it looks like I may have to unless someone has a good suggestion. Other than Target and that other TJ Maxx-y place in Westwood, are there any good small shops in West Seattle where a procrastinator could find a dress?? Thanks!!

Laconique,
We are lucky to have Carmillias here in little old WS. I've bought a number of dresses from Linda for casual to dressy occasions and love them all and worn a few of them for quite a few years.....can't wait to have a good excuse to buy another one...Posted 2 years ago # -
All in the Junction area, depending on your price range and style:
Funky Jane's consignment
Craze
SweetieThese are all on California, around the intersection with Oregon.

I second the recommendation for Carmilia's - great choices and decent prices.

What is craze like? I have walked by but never been in.

Craze is a small boutique too, with a hip sometimes funky collection... I've found it to be a littel more casual and affordable than Sweetie or Carmilia's.

Try the new Cherry Consignment store. I went in there a couple of weeks ago and was really impressed by the array of clothes and the great prices. http://www.cherryconsign.com/

I found the most amazing little black dress for $15.00 at Many Moons Trading Company. Can't wait to wear it and channel my inner Audrey Hepburn. Friday's are the best day to shop at Many Moon's as lots of items are half price. It's located behind Jan's Beauty in the junction. Oh, while I'm at it, I must shout out that Jan's is the BEST place to buy hair products in West Seattle. Jan & Shari are wonderful and knowledgable.

Another vote for Many Moons. I always find something good there.

WSMom - Jan's is apparently only great if you know the women working there. I stopped in a few weeks ago after work, prepared to spend about $100 on several items, but was ignored while I was there in favor of other customers that came in that the employees apparently knew pretty well. The last straw was when I was waiting to be rung up and the older woman working seriously passed me up to ring up the male hairstylist behind me. It was ridiculous, and blatantly rude for no reason. I put my items down and left.

Hope you found the perfect dress! As for Jan's: Although I go there only a couple of times a year, I have always enjoyed excellent, helpful service. Plus, their selection of quality products is incredible. SarahScoot, if they let the other person get rung up before you, act like a New Yorker - "Yo, I was here first!" ;)
