  2. Maybe there should be a way for WSB to approve people before allowing them to post. WSB has better things to do than monitor this. I'd rather read political stuff than have all the spam.

  6. Sorry, not quite sure what the problem is. Our filter catches 99 percent of this. Unfortunately, the 1 percent seems to be very busy right now. And it's not showing up for me in the back end, where I usually catch it - I looked when I started work this morning at about 5:30, and apparently it started right AFTER that. Working on it!

I knew those f**kers were behind this.

  8. Makes as much sense as anything. Though the filters are catching almost all of it, the system still was generating "topics" with zero posts. I have killed the ones that buried most of the recent forum topics, but we have to go out for a bit to check on some stories - phone moderation doesn't work as well as with the big computers, so there's a chance some may appear while we're gone. Thank you for your patience. - TR

  9. Sorry yet again - while we were out for an hour frantically dealing with the Sealth hit-and-run incident (which also included a side trip to White Center when a possible, then ruled out, suspect was found), the attack continued. We've deleted it all again. And our server management company has some intriguing advice on what we might do to stop it, but it's going to take a little time, so I'm apologizing once more in case Wall O'Spam returns. The part that ticks me off most is that some spam farm (which identifies itself as ShenZhen, China, in the spam registrations) was interfering with people getting information after the crash - when the victims' parents probably didn't even know yet it was their kids, and hundreds of other parents wondered if it were theirs (heck, our kid goes to Sealth and if SFD hadn't said rather quickly "two girls" WE would have been wondering). We'll get over this speed bump as we have gotten over countless others in the past five years ... appreciate your support. Almost thinking we should go to Marination (new WSB sponsor) for lunch and have SPAM musubi. Just for yuks.

  10. That pesky 1% again? Shouldn't they be out persecuting the masses, or running down bicyclists? This is what happens of allowing campaign season to take a break after the election.
