zephyrParticipantWell, I had to switch to Windows 7 from XP this past week and there have been a few challenges. ;)
Currently I am working on getting the display right for me. The regular text size was way too small so I increased it to 125% which seems to work. However, now my icons are huge. The two seem to be linked. Is there anyway to decrease my icon size on my desktop independently of my text size? I have been searching around online, but all the answers seem to indicate that they are linked. i.e. if you want larger text, then you must want larger icons. Not true for me.
And eventually I might want to try to actually change the font itself. I don’t know what font XP used, but the Win 7 seems so sterile and less readable. But that’s another question. Thanks, ~z

Michael WaldoParticipantRight click desktop, at bottom of list, click “Personalize”, near the bottom, click on “Classic Desktop” to make it look like XP.

zephyrParticipantThanks, Michael. I did try that at one point. It was interesting, then I switched back to the standard and tweaked a few other things. I discovered that you can adjust the size of the font along a range or scale. It wasn’t just 100%, 125% or 150%.
For awhile I tried to change the font back to the XP font. A lot of websites with the new Win 7 font are not as readable—it seems to be a lighter weight.
I found the tool to do that, but it seemed to do it piecemeal fashion, rather than a universal choice. I believe the XP font was Tahoma—not sure about that. Anyway, I am slowly adjusting to the change. Thanks, ~z
