   I posted this morning about some West Seattle domain names for sale and someone deleted it. Why?

   Probably because it either looked like spam, or it looked like a business posting, like someone who does domain sales for a business and this wasn't a one time deal/sale.
   Per the forum rules, businesses can post free things, one-time deals/sales, or in response to a request for service recommendations. Otherwise you'd need to talk to Patrick about buying an ad on the sidebar. If it looks like you're posting to a bunch of different local blog forums trying to drum up business for selling neighborhood domain names, that'd be another good reason to be deleted.
   Or it might have just been caught by the forum spam filter and is in the queue for review.

   Bummer... It was just a one time thing, just figured I could help out a local business or two with a heavily discount domain name since I have a few left. Oh well.

   If you have a question about whether it's OK to post you can shoot an email directly to the editors and you'd get a quicker response than posting to the forum. They don't always have time to look at all the forum posts but they're really responsive to email :-) editor@westseattleblog.com

   I have been out all morning and haven't had occasion to delete anything, let alone even visit the forum before now (I'm still out, working from the car at the moment and about to resume driving, but thought I would check in). Somebody reported something to us this am, however, and my co-publisher might have taken action, I'll check.

   That said - SALES means SALES like discounts, deals, not just "anything for sale" is OK. Watch for our forthcoming classifieds section for that!

   If you haven't weighed in on the "Need your help" thread, in which I ask for category suggestions (won't be able to use them all for starters but also don't want to pretend we have all the ideas), please do ... we need to decide on the first round within a day or so, so our awesome developer can get to the finish line.
