In speaking separately with my favorite bar-tender, shop-owner, hair-stylist, and grocery store check-out persons this week, they all volunteered "how 'GROUCHY' people are." It was attributed to: "The Weather, The Economy, & Taxes being due next Monday." Anyone else notice something similar?

Stop bothering me - I'm NOT grouchy. . . . . I would attack your character but that's not aloud. Leave me alone!

The damned rain. and yes.

oops, "allowed." A classic case of justification for not throwing stones. . . . .

2 much..I saw that, was gonna correct you, but then thought - nah, that would be akin to grouchy or snarky ;-)~

I will attest to the rain thing... I know it's the cold and the rain that's getting to me. It's April! I know I know, this is Seattle blah blah blah but good lord!

@Cait ... precisely. Which is why I booked myself 4 days in San Diego next week. It better be sunny and WARM!!!!

Cliff Mass predicts another month of below average temperatures...
that's enough to make anyone grouchy..unless of course you are partial to cool season crops.

maybe that would explain why drivers are so aggro lately.
calm down, people.

For me it's weather, taxes and political stuff. I'm going to have to take a break from watching and reading the news for a bit to lessen my crankiness. Another warm spring day would help! :)

Working with the public you get an up close and personal type of experience in regards to how the weather, moon phases, stock market etc really do have an effect on people's moods.
I guess being a part of the quickly disappearing middle class in a nothing but rain environment on a planet that is dying takes its toll on the grouch factor. (Wow, total bummer when it's put that way, huh?)
The last sunny day (last week?) was amazing, everyone was so happy! I haven't seen that many men buy flowers since Valentine's Day. It's healing being able to forget every once in a while just how screwed up things are, sunshine seems to help.

I work outside, and this is one of the worst winters I can remember. Cold, rain, and especially wind have taken their toll. A lot of plants died due to the sudden cold snap last fall, and I expect more to perish - or just fail to grow - due to this extended season of misery. World events aren't helping, either. But then, I'm always a grouch so nothing new there!

no wonder we are grumpy...

It's so unfair.
If it were straight-up global warming, then at least the cold places would get a little relief; if it were a new ice age, then the hot places would get some. But it seems like the hot places are just getting hotter while the cold places are getting colder. The dry ones are getting drier and the wet ones wetter.
I call it "Global Ickening."

DP...
did you miss Cliff's statement that the Pacific Northwest will be one of the last places to feel the affects of global warming due to our position as recipient of the vast Pacific's modulating affects?
