Hey, you're right. What happened?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Hey guys -
funny you should mention him - I was wondering about where he was when WSB get those awards. He would have hoorayed with us normally.
Hmm. Hope he's ok too.

I thought about him tonight, too. Hmm...let me see what I can find out :) I think I have his e-mail address.

If you guys don't get a reply, I know somebody else I can check with too. Thanks for being so caring. It's kind of like not seeing a neighbor out getting his paper or taking out the trash for a while and wanting to check in ...

the phone number i had for him has been disconnected.
i pinged him via both email and facebook

it can cross the street and knock on his door.Posted 1 year ago # -
JoB,
If you can't get there today let me know and I can stop by on my way home.Posted 1 year ago # -
Hey all!
Thanks for your concern. I just replied to Jan's and JoB's e-mails with the details of what's happening right now.
Am at the Library right now, and am on the downhill side of my alloted computer time here.
So, in a nustshell, unemployment ran out, and the latest extension didn't go through for me.
Have stepped up the job search big time. Covered California Ave from Morgan to Admiral, and up to Westwood Village. That's about all I can do on foot, so have been trying to get on to the internet every couple of days or so, between the Library, and a friend's.
Please keep your fingers crossed for me on getting a job!
Thanks again,
MikePosted 1 year ago # -
JoB.. How do I get in touch with you?
Posted 1 year ago # -
I'm with you Mike; I never qualified for unemployment, being self-employed; have been searching for a job for 2 yrs; very frustrating and scary; wishing you and me both a job asap
~
so glad to hear you're okPosted 1 year ago # -
Which library? I am a couple of blocks from the highpoint library and you can use any of my computers when ever you like.

he was touched to find himself missed.Posted 1 year ago # -
Mike deserves the Mister Congeniality award for WSB. He has always remained positive. I don't think I have ever read anything snarky from him; only good thoughts. He well deserves the goodness that comes his way.
Posted 1 year ago # -
He has never been snarky... which I can appreciate.
I have a contact name for someone at the West Seattle Helpline, next time someone talks with Mike tell him if he needs I can get him that name (she should still be there). tell him to get in touch with me (Michele) @ Thriftway.
She has helped a couple coworkers of mine. (Sometimes it is easier having a name of someone that can pull strings instead of waiting in line, especially when the situation is dire). But lets hope it doesn't get that bad.....

I wish it was that funny JoB.. If you still have that email of mines, send it to me again. I've been laid out in the hospital for over two weeks now with some serious complications. I was visiting my mom in Vancouver,Wa when I got very sick. I've had two major surgeries here at Legacy Medical and will be transferred tomorrow after being here for two plus weeks and a lot of days in ICU to a rehabilitatiion home here in Vancouver for another two weeks to make sure my wounds heal and strength returns. I will be recovering after rehab at my moms house here in Vancouver until until next year sometime to regain peace of my mind. I won't be back in Seattle for awhile. I'll drop you more of the particulars of my condition. I have to relearn now to eat learn and use the bathroom normally. That alone is going to take a week as my body heals.

Good luck with the whole bathroom thing Jiggy... that can't be fun. At least when you get really old you will be somewhat accustomed to someone helping you with that.
(Hope you don't take offense BTW, you seem to have a pretty good sense of humor.)

jiggers...
i a truly sorry to hear that.
i don't think i still have your email address.. i got wiped a while ago... but you can contact me at joanne at brayden dot org.
you are in my old stomping grounds now. though the gorge wind can be brutal in the winter.. there is still nothing more healing to me than walking by those waterfalls. I miss them dearly.
i know how hard it is when health forces you to retreat home jiggers. hang in there and keep in touch.

I got your info. I transfer out of Legacy Medical today into a long rehad care facility In Vancouver. My mom is stopping by later this morning.

jiggers...
good luck.
I am very glad you have mom there to help you.
taking a cab from the hospital to rehab to a shelter is a hard road i wouldn't wish on anyone.Posted 1 year ago # -
Thanks for all the kind words everybody.
Thanks to the generous kindness of a friend, I made it back to the 20th Century by getting my phone service re-established, and, consequently made it back to the 21st Century, by being able to get back on-line at home.
Jiggers, sorry to hear of your present situation. a lengthy hospitalization, and/or rehab is no fun. (Except for learning cool hospital terms like PICC Line, Foley, Cannular and Kanauer, as well as the decent food and hot nurses!)
With all that I had to deal with a couple of years ago, and considering what side effects were possible, I feel fortunate that my experience didn't involve surgery, and was pretty much side effect and pain-free, (other than some discomfort with the Catheter, which I won't go into detail on a family friendly Forum).
It takes awhile to regain a normal level of strength and mobility.
Hang in there, try to remain positive, and know that there are people south of the (temporary) border pulling for you.
