clark5080ParticipantDaughter getting married and looking for places to hold a reception.
March 10, 2014 at 8:48 pm #805518
datamuseParticipantWe had ours at Salty’s. They have a downstairs banquet facility with a range of options at different price points.
Have heard good things about Tuxedos & Tennis Shoes but don’t have direct experience with them.

clark5080ParticipantI should add that looking on the lower end of the price ranges. Thanks Datamuse for the info on Salty’s

JanSParticipantMr. Clark…I’m saying this kinda tongue in cheek, but…my daughter is being given a baby shower at the upstairs room at Big Al’s Brewery in White Center. It holds quite a few people, can be reserved, and the best part? It’s free. Beer for purchase downstairs, a place for buffet type food, and you can take additional beverages (inc. wine, I’m sure). I suppose it would depend on how many people you are having, how fancy they want it. But…it’s an option…and you can’t get more low end on cost than free :D lol….

datamuseParticipantminion’s comment reminded me that we looked at Camp Long as well. The lodge was a bit too small for our needs but it’s a really nice space and not too expensive.

jissyParticipantI just visited the Duwamish Longhouse on West Marginal as a possible location for a party (was asked by a friend to check it out), it’s pretty cool, more parking than I thought it had. I have no idea of price though.
Alki Bathhouse also comes to mind (again I have no idea of price, sorry).
March 10, 2014 at 10:25 pm #805524
GoGoParticipantWe went with the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center (old Cooper School on Delridge). Was a great space and a reasonable price.

WilmaParticipantI’ve worked with The Sanctuary at Admiral quite a bit. Davi is fantastic!
March 10, 2014 at 11:29 pm #805526
MParticipantI held my wedding reception at the Masonic hall a few years ago near the west Seattle bowl (check the website out ) and also helped plan a reception at the Fauntleroy church hall. (Info on the website )Both was very reasonable priced. I was too was looking for a place that didn’t break the bank and also venues that could hold a lot of people. Good luck :)

squareeyesParticipantI’m having my wedding/reception at the Sanctuary at Admiral this summer so I definitely like it, but cheap it isn’t.
Dakota Place is a beautiful room and only $800 for 5 hours. Small kitchen space though. http://www.seattle.gov/parks/reservations/dakota.htm
The Camp Long Lodge is a very cool venue and also very reasonably priced. The kitchen downstairs is huge. These places are very much do-it-yourself so you’ve got to set up and breakdown, and bring in all cooking/dining utensils/equipment. https://www.seattle.gov/parks/reservations/docs/camp_long.pdf
March 10, 2014 at 11:59 pm #805528
datamuseParticipantSomething else to note about Camp Long: since it’s a park, you need to get an alcohol permit if you’re serving booze, which cannot be taken outside.

SueParticipantThe Westside UU Church rents out their social hall for events. http://wsuu.org/rentals.php

westseagalMemberWe had our ceremony & reception in one of the downstairs banquet rooms at Saltys. Price info is posted on their website & they have different price points/options to choose from. If you have a minimum food purchase, the room rental is free. Once you add up all costs of catering in food & beverages somewhere else that charges a room rental fee, it turns out that Salty’s is very reasonable. We scheduled our ceremony for a Saturday morning, and our guests enjoyed the famous weekend brunch(with the upside being that guests don’t drink as much during a brunch as they do at a dinner/evening reception so your bar bill is lower).

clark5080ParticipantThanks all for the great suggestions
March 13, 2014 at 3:41 am #805534
Ilovedogs123ParticipantCheck out the Normandy Park Cove, its beautiful but a bit pricey.
March 13, 2014 at 4:04 am #805535
DunnoParticipantWest Seattle Golf Course. Hall holds about 150.
Great views and good parking. Best by far for the price. Also has a full bar your guests can pay for if they want hard stuff.
VFW hall where the cannon is.
Bath House on Alki, great view and the parties I’ve been to there had alcohol.
Eagles Hall
Glen Acres country club is really nice and not real $$.
Senior Center might be another option.
Salty’s and Hall at Fauntleroy will be more $$$$
Good luck.
March 13, 2014 at 9:06 am #805536
celeste17ParticipantI thought the American Legion was the canon but I guess it is the VFW. So check the American Legion I have been to several receptions there and it cleans up nice.
March 13, 2014 at 9:44 am #805537
JanSParticipantCeleste…Am. Legion *is* the cannon…used to go to meetings there. VFW is across the street on the south side of Alaska.

Wes C. AddleParticipant@ilovedogs23
The Normandy Park Cove is actually pretty cheap if you can have someone that lives there “sponsor” the event.
It’s only $1700 I believe and it’s a huge spot.
