Hello again,
Where can I take my push reel mower for blade sharpening and what kind of price should I expect to pay for such a service?
West Seattle preferably, but anywhere in the Seattle area will work.
Thanks.

Where to go for sharpening reel mower blades?

I just did this myself. McLendon\'s picks up reel mowers on Tuesdays and they are returned the following week, for around $45. Aurora Lawnmower will do it within the week (if you drop it off by Wed afternoon I think? You\'d want to double check) for about $30. If you happen to have a Chinook Book, there\'s a coupon for 10% off reel mower sharpening at Aurora Lawnmower in it, and they did a nice job with ours.

Thanks for the info! I was wondering where to do that - now that gas is so expensive, it\'s time to get out the push mower. Pick up and drop off for $45 is worth the hassle of delivering it, and picking it up.

thanks!

Oops, I think I need to clarify...McLendon\'s doesn\'t pick up your mower from you, it picks them up at their White Center store on Tuesday. You still have to take the mower there and pick it up again when it comes back to their shop. Sorry for the confusion!

There is a small house on the sidestreet directly across from the Roxbury Safeway...on the west side of the street right behind all the bowling alley businesses...used to go there to have our lawnmower blades sharpened. Don\'t know the phone number...it was a retired man who ran a small business sharpening things. He did a good job. If you\'re in the area, you might check to see if he\'s still in business.

McLendon\'s will also sharpen garden shears.

So I'm curious whether or not there's anywhere actually in WS who does reel mower sharpening on-site now? My schedule and transportation logistics are making it hard to get out of WS for something like this, and I'm hoping to find a place where I won't have to wait a week to get the mower back. Any ideas?

It's super easy to do yourself in about 15 minutes at home for the cost of a metal file. Remember, don't think "sharp" think "smooth"

Thank you, WC! I had no idea it was such a simple task.
