I always used safeway bags... Where can I get an alternative?

I use bread and produce bags now. But if you don't have access to those you can buy bags specifically for poo pick up at petco.

Any pet store has the biodegradable bags. Better for the landfill. Maybe...

I always use BioBag poo bags, widely available at PCC and other stores. They're pretty good, except for not containing odor at all (something to consider on long walks, or while stopping to chat with neighbors) and occasionally I'll poke a finger right through them. Sorry if TMI.

Depending on how big a dog you have - I always used brown paper lunch bags for my sheltie. You can buy them by the hundred at the grocery store, and they're biodegradable. Took along a piece of waxed paper to pick it up with, dropped it with the paper on the bottom, rolled down the top. It worked for him.

Order them on line. I got a gross for the price of one bag from Petco.

Hit up the Safeway on Roxbury once a month and go through self checkout. Grab 20-30 extra bags when bagging your groceries

    Ta-da!

  11. The Pet Pros in Westwood has them for about $5.00 cheaper than Petco.

When I had a dog and four roommates, coffee and other to-go cups were my method. Give it 2 days and you'll turn pro on the idiosyncracies with this one. I'd use a littered cup if one was around before I'd use one I was already carrying.

They're really cheap on eBay or $1 at Dollar Tree. You could also grab some used plastic bags from a store that has a plastic bag recycling container.

  14. You can try Earth Rated brand of dog poop bags. They are lavender scented so it cuts down on the odor on long walks. I only sell bulk replacements for pet waste stations, (a case at a time) but I'm sure they're available at most pet stores.

  16. hoop..those bags are not biodegradable, stay in the ground forever and a day...the ones used specifically to pick up dog poop are biodegradable...but for you, anything to save a buck, right? The world bedamned, huh...

before the nanny states your dog's poop was enshrined in it's plastic container for eternity...
if you purchase or reuse biodegradable bags...
those little gifts aren't with us forever.

Those plastic bags are just horrible for the environment. And you still have to touch the poo which can cause and lead to all types of deadly bacteria being spread when using plastic or the bio bags. I found out about the Doggie Doo Dissolver (Google it), it is a spray that when sprayed on Dog poo will dissolve it within minutes. Never touch poo again and it is completely green and safe.
