Hollyplace, I have a lift chair that was given to me after my first hip replacement surgery. It's been wonderful. You just press the button, and it reclines into an almost lying position, or anywhere in between. And it stands you up almost. One friend said "it feels like I'm levitating". lol If you click on the link it will show you where you can "shop" for them.

hollyplace -- you might want to check out Costco, maybe even check Costco online (I think they deliver, too!), otherwise I think there's that Reclinerland place at Southcenter (I know they aren't W.Seattle, but fairly close) and/or Macy's outlet center. Good luck.... at least you can catch up on your reading!

hollyplace, congrats on your new family member. Sleepers in Seattle in the junction sells recliners.

"Sleepers in Seattle" in the Junction on California Ave., south of Alaska Street, south of Husky Deli on the same side of the street. I'm quite sure they deliver also. They're great.

Thanks! I will definitely check with sleepers. I called costco and they are out of all but one. Macy's takes quite a while for delivery or pickup, but I forgot about the outlet. I am going to chEck there and take a look at goldentech too. Thanks you guys!

i needed a recliner for post-surgery recuperation back in january. i needed something a)affordable and b)one of the types that is opened and closed with an actual lever (rather than by pushing it back and then using legs/abs to close it).....the only place i found these two requirements: Big Lots in Burien. Mine was on sale for $199, but I got it for $159 because all they had left was the floor model.
They usually have several different models for under $300. Very comfy. Plus, the one I bought came in 2 pieces that clicked together easily, so i didnt need to rent a truck to bring it home.

Hollyplace, I was on modified bed rest myself last spring/early summer while pregnant with my twin boys. Needless to say I was super happy when I found the Macy's furniture outlet at the far end of Southcenter mall! I ended up with a beautiful double size (yes, its LARGE, but I slept in it half the time!) chocolate brown leather recliner for $499! I wanted something useable yet classic that I would still use after I had the twins and was off of bed rest, and to this day I still do use it everyday -- nursing them, holding/rocking them, sitting them next to me to read a book, or just watching TV on those rare occasions when they are finally asleep! I looked at Sleepers in the Junction, and Levitz and Reclinerland at Southcenter, and Macy's had the best priced chairs by far. They deliver too!
