has political rhetoric undermined our ability to recognize truth?

    ok.. this is another edit to rid the forum of my unintended triple post...

    this is something that came up in one of the topics yesterday..

    DP accused me of not being balanced because i called the financial institutions who knowingly wrote and then resold bad paper to our nation's pension funds crooks.

    I see no reason to sugarcoat fraud..
    regardless of the political leanings of those who perpetrate the fraud...
    or of those who try to cover it up or blame the fraud on the opportunity ...

    is a crime or a lie no longer seen to be a crime or a lie if it is recounted in what someone considers to be a political context?

    and if so.. what can we do to change this?
