The Beer Junction is dedicating one of its awesome Thursday tastings (10/28) to benefit Friends of the Animals Foundation and Feral Cat Assistance & Trapping. Epic Ales from SODO will be there, pouring some of its best from 5 - 8PM. Cost is $5 and proceeds benefit the cats. To make a night of it, tasting guests can walk right next door to RockSport where a percentage of their food and/or beverage bill will be donated to FAF & FCAT. Joining forces to make a difference - how cool is that?! See you there!

Might I suggest name tag be worn by the Blog participants so we can pick you out of the crowd? Sounds fun.

Well for that kind of spirit, I'll have name tags available and a WSB table tent for the first migration to bring over to RockSport!

I wanted to let everyone know how the proceeds will be used. I and another trapper are going to be trapping about 200 feral cats in the next 4 weeks. Well that is alot of wet food that will be needed.
So even if you don't drink beer but would like to support the "mass" trapping we will be happy to accept donations of wet canned food. It is fall/winter time, this is where I really like to get my "trapping" on.

to get more attention you might want to post a new thread titled Forum meet-up benefit for F-Cat or something like that... and repost the info along with the offer to have name tags...
also.. did you ask TR to put it on the front page?

If folks want to make this an informal forum meet-up, that's more than terrific; love the idea! If someone doesn't want to give up their forum identity, that's cool too - no pressure. Obviously, we'd love to see a big turnout at these two local businesses who are generously supporting two local rescues, whether you want to "out" yourself or not ;)

We'll have name tags at The Beer Junction tasting if you want one for the night, but either way, be sure to get your RockSport card before you go. When you give it to your server Thursday, RockSport will donate 10% of your total check back to FAF/FCAT!Posted 1 year ago # -

hammerhead - Do you know if there are any Adopt-A-Thon events in the future? I'd be interested but the website doesn't seem to have the latest info...?

Epic Ales has some amazing beers. Their tag line says it all "Every possibility is conceivable." Expect the unexpected. Sip and savor to catch the subtle nuances and true delight of these beers.
It will be exciting to see how Cody pairs these with cheese - all his beers are "a delight in itself but the true beauty will be discovered when paired with the right food." I got an email of what was paired at a different event, so I'm really excited about this event! This will be an enjoyable event on many levels.
As Hammerhead mentioned, we will also have the newly released 2011 Crazy Cat Lady Calendar - 12 Local Professional Women passionate (crazy) about and involved in all aspects of cat rescue (rated E for everyone). Get the jump on your holiday shopping - beer gift sets and calendars! Isn't that the top of everyone's wish list?!
And don't forget to pick up a coupon and head over to the Rocksport who will also be donating 10% of food/beverage bill for anyone bringing in his coupon.
See you there!!

heres' tonight's line-up and details:
The fee for this tasting is $5 with $3 of each tasting fee going to Friends of Animals Foundation (FAF) and Feral Cat Assistance and Trapping.
Featuring EPIC Ales: Come meet Cody, Founder and Brewmaster, as we sample the following 5 beers. Each beer will be paired with a different cheese selected by Cody!
1. Simply Summer: a bone dry earthy hoppy farmhouse ale. Though summer may be over this beer begs to be paired with all the sweet and rich food coming this holiday season.
2. Lyli: a light refreshing wheat-based ale brewed with green tea. Wonderful with all those washed rind cheeses that accompany early fall.
3. Mathilda: an imperial kvass, slightly tart with bready rye notes and mint throughout. Think Russian surf mojito. Plays nicely with roasted tubers and blue cheeses.
4. Beatrice, the spicy cousin of Mathilda, made with szechuan peppercorns and cinnamon. With a nice bowl of curry and this beer on your table you've almost escaped the soggy northwest rainy season.
5. Project One, the first big beer from the brewery. Boiled for 3 hours until it took on a sark amber hue. This 9.1% beast was brewed with palm, cane and beet sugar, it finds itself halfway between a west coast amber and a Belgian dubbel.
Want to keep the party going after we close up at 8pm?
Head on over to our neighbors at The Rocksport Bar and Grill and 10% of your food and/or beverage purchase will go to FAF/ FCAT (be sure to pick up a donation ticket from us before you head over!).Posted 1 year ago # -
Fence...be prepared to fall in love if you go to Hammerhead's house. It's so much fun just watching all the kittehs...you'll fall in love with at least two of them, I promise you (if not all) :)

FCAT/FAF wanted to thank the Beer Junction for letting us do the beer tasting fundraiser. Epic Beers for the wonderful beers to be on display. It was a successful night over all, other than the baseball game. LOL
To the people who came out to support us.
Rocksport for continuing the support afterwords.
