West Seattle to Sounders FC

  1. Anyone have information on the best way to get to Sounders games other than fighting traffic and parking issues in the area? I may go visit friends in Belltown for some Final Four action before hitting the game, but I may also be lazy and hang out around the house until I head to the game. I'm a season ticket holder, so I could use the information regardless of how today pans out.

Thanks oh wise WSB forum peoples!

  2. Take the water taxi from seacrest and walk to the stadium or to friends' in belltown. Water taxi run starts monday I think.

There are free shuttles that go around alaska / admiral junctions and down to alki point that serve the water taxi but if you'd rather drive to seacrest there's usually parking along harbor ave that isn't 2-hr restricted, which the seacrest lot is.
Alternate to the water taxi, buses 21, 22, 56, 57, 85, 116, 118, and 119 all stop at 1st and royal brougham. Bus costs less than boat but is a bit less entertaining.

If its an evening game don't take the bus to the water taxi. The bus only run's until about 7pm. Take your car to the Seacrest area and then take the water taxi to downtown.

  4. Ended up taking the 56 from Admiral & California. Couldn't have been much easier. Thanks.

How much is the water taxi? My workplace is moving from Sodo to downtown and leaving the free parking behind as well. I think I'm about to learn a lot more about public transport options.

  5. The water taxi is $3.50 cash or $3 for transit passes and orca card. http://www.kingcounty.gov/transportation/kcdot/WaterTaxi/WestSeattleRoute/Fares.aspx has senior, disabled and youth fares.

  6. Likely a little too pricey for everyday commuting, but good fun for Sounders games and the like, I'd think. Thanks.
