  1. This is a great deal - I lowered the rent to $795.00 per month for the one bedroom:

and to $1350.00 for the two bedroom. The two bedroom unit is completely re-built - everything is brand new. see the pictures. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/apa/1611685758.html.
Like I said - this is west seattle landmark - we bought this building in 2005 and saved it from demolition. A builder wanted to buy it to build townhouses on the plot. This building was built in 1900 by a famous east coast brick layer - it was his capstone project - his other buildings were lost during Boston fire of 1872. My husband and I were always very fond of this old building and we wanted to preserve it for generations to come. We've done a lot of works to it and also completely remodeled half of the apartments. Call me if you interested in renting a place - 206-380-6010.

  2. Bless you for saving this building, it's very cool. If my husband and I were looking at this time we would definitely be interested.
I'm sure you'll rent both of them quickly!

  3. I have always had people on a waitlist but now I am worried because there is no list and it is almost the end of February ;) Anyway, my husband says the same - it will rent soon enough. We've always took pets also - no matter what size.

  4. galina, I hope you find some renters soon.

I, too, would like to thank you and your husband for saving this cool, classic, building. We've lost too many in West Seattle, and Seattle in general, over the last several years.

  7. it's funny how many apt owners think taking pets is a selling point; I looked far and wide for months to find apt building that does NOT allow pets, also does NOT allow smoking, also very reasonable rent; we never have vacancies for longer than couple days

  8. no I don't really care if it is a selling point - I have always had a dog and I have always had trouble finding decent place that will allow a dog so when I became a landlord I decided I will allow pets. If you don't have a pet why would you care if your neighbor had a dog or a cat anyway? If it is properly sanitized after tenants move out you would not even notice it even if you are allergic like me.

  9. Hey, Matthew - in this market it can still be waiting for you ;) All the un-sold town homes and failed condo coversions that have been throwing people out and will again after the market turns - are on the rental market now ;) Oh, well, it will rent soon enough I guess.

  10. oh there are so many reasons I love living in pet-free home; smell, noise, sanitation, safety
    ~
#1 is barking dogs; hate it; and very happy to live in quiet building
    ~
I moved into this apt 2 1/2 yrs ago and apt below me smuggled in a cat (I thought they were "grand fathered in", turns out not, and kicked out when cat was discovered); I could smell horrible stink from cat box poop every time I opened kitchen cupboards; lovely
    ~
last house rental of 7 yrs, previous renter had large dog; it took me 5 yrs to get dog smell out of living room carpet
    ~
I’m not allergic, just not a fan of pets living inside

  12. Diane, i can totally understand - my mother is that way. She doesn't want any pets around her place either ;) It's great we all have a choice though. There should absolutely be places that do not allow pet or kids (just kidding).

Matthew, I would love to show you the place.
