  1. Hey West Seattle-

Our family of 7 is new to town and looking for a good church.

Looking for a church that is accepting and loves all people and really walks the walk. We believe Christianity rests solely in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our last church in NV, was a non-denomination church that really me our needs and the needs of our kids. My wife and I were both active in life groups.

Visited Mars Hill this past weekend without knowing any history about the church or Mark Driscoll and are definitely NOT interested in returning.

Love your recommendations! Thanks in advance :-)

Strongly recommend West Seattle Christian. Pastor Jacobs has uplifting sermons that include teaching the bible and positive steps we can all take in our lives.

Plus the congregation reaches out to the greater West Seattle Community. For instance, they have a vegetable garden that provided over 600 lbs of fresh produce to White Center Food Bank; they finance and run the concession stand at the outdoor movies, with the funds raised going to various West Seattle charities; a contingency of the congregation, including Pastor Jacobs and his wife, and community members are leaving for a remote village in Honduras in a few days to help dig a well for clean water.

  5. Another church option, Center for Spiritual Living - Seattle, its not in West Seatle but there are a number of folks from WS that go to services there.

Its located east of the UW on Sandpoint Way, it takes me about 20 min. to get there on a Sunday morning.

Check out the website, they accept people of all faiths, and honor all paths to God. Its a wonderful dynamic community with great childrens programs as well as adult education and programs.

  6. Even though our family attends church out of the area, Calvary Chapel West Seattle, Westside Presbyterian, Hope Lutheran, and Arbor Heights Community Church
are all churches I have visited and would recommend to try!

  7. It's not in West Seattle, but a good church - Eastlake Community - http://www.eastlakecc.com. "church for the rest of us" is their (and should be all church's motto). GREAT kids programs and groups, and Ryan Meeks is a good teacher and entertaining.

If you are used to a real conservative church, it may not be your thing, but go check it out on Sunday night.

    Hi!
I highly recommend the faith community at Tibbetts Methodist Church on 41st & Andover. Pastor Joanne Brown gives uplifting sermons that connect the Bible with our everyday lives and the unconditional love God has for everyone.
Great music program for all ages (choir, instrumentals, handbells); womens, mens, children and youth groups, warm and welcoming congregation. We support Family Promise of West Seattle (we're one of several churches which host homeless families for a week at a time) and we're the home of the 2x/year rummage sale.
    Check us out on Facebook:

We'd love to see you at our Sunday 10am service!

Although it is unconventional I would think the Beer Church might meet your needs. . . . ;-) http://www.beerchurch.com/ I think they walk (with a bit of a swagger perhaps) the walk.
