After showers and breakfast we'll be heading for Costco then NV. Anyone that has something they feel will comfort our friends and are accessible to our 4X4 we can pick it up and deliver this morning if you wish. Post it here with your contact info and we'll see what we can do. Imagine we'll leave around 11AM.

Yes, thanks m22's!
Could you swing by and pick-up my love and best wishes for staying warm and dry as possible, and deliver it to my friends down there? ;-)
Your continuing to visit, deliver stuff, and just check in on them eases my mind considerably, but, please stay safe yourselves out there in doing so.

Munchkins--
I have some foam mattress pads, and I can find more things: socks,a jacket or two, etc. ONLY if Alki is not totally out of your reach.
You are snow angels!

Goodgraces, angelescrest and sbre: thank you for your generous donations. You touched many people today and they'll have another chance at being warmer thanks to you.
We were able to fire up the chainsaw to buzz up some pallets and to size their existing wood pile to burnable lengths. Met the woodmaster who is doing a great job in trying to regulate the burn rate of the resources for the greatest benefit. The need for wood is always there, so if you see any likely sources, downed trees, etc, post it on the blog as we have others who also have chain saws and are willing to team up to keep the NV homeless fires burning.
Several tents have collapsed under the weight of snow and ice, but they all appeared to be unoccupied.Posted 4 months ago # -

You guys are awesome here in helping out those who need it. I am struggling greatly myself and also breathe feel the cold and fresh air every night I lay my head. But I will never go and support a place that is politically driven. I am homeless myself and have been for years. I don't do drugs and not mental, just a lot of bad luck and medically compramised.

Jiggers, is there a way we can help in some way? We're getting real good at finding things that people need that other people want to help with as I know you've seen here on the blog. We despise the politics that govern the homeless and the orgs that make money off of them. We try to focus on the person and their need and try not to get embroiled in their politics. JoB has our contact info and maybe we should connect. We have no agendas. Think it over.

JoB is my main connection here. She and Jan are the only ones who have met me personally. JoB knows were my favorite morning coffee hangout lies. And they are a W.S. Blog sponsor. The owners are super nice folks. Maybe we can meet up one morning. Contact her and she'll contact me and we'll meet up if you want to. Peace!

Sounds good. Do they have cocoa there? We don't do coffee. We've teamed with JoB ever since NV landed in the mudhole last May. She knows us well.
You can contact her as well and she'll get you our e address.Posted 4 months ago # -
Munchkin22's words were right on. Speaking for my household only, we'd like to know what would help.
Meaning, what what would help you. Sincerely and with no political-anything attached to that.
A little limited overall right now, but we have 2 big bags of clothing (primarily men's with socks/jackets/pants) that I'm going to try to get to NV tomorrow. If I had more info from you and items like this that you could use (and other also), JoB has my contact info.

Since Jiggers has finally decided to come out of his homeless closet enough to admit on the blog that he really is homeless...
i can tell you what he needs most...
a room to rent for under $400 a month...
with kitchen privileges..if anyone knows where that can be had locally please let me know at joanne - brayden - org
i will do my best to connect jiggers with resources...
in the meantime.. if you simply want to contribute to his coffee and bus fund at one of our local coffeehouses..
i will be glad to help facilitate that as well.it's sobering to realize that we have more than one homeless person in our small circle, isn't it.

Is there anywhere in Alaska Junction where items for NV can be dropped off? I don't drive, but pass through the Junction a few times a week and would love to find a way to contribute.
