How does "mom pregnant" qualify as a sad story?
My mom was pregnant once, too.
That turned out all right.
How do you know it is a scam? Maybe they really needed help.
I wouldn't chance it. Maybe offer to make phone call but deffinitely wouldn't let them in. Most kids would go for spare change on the street or outside a store but I still wouldn't. Had some boys ask for bus fare because it was pouring rain, I said I had no cash. A few minutes later a car picked them up. Guess they weren't so hard up after all.
Seems like a frequent request for "money for the bus". Just beat them at their game if it really is a game. Do what I did which is go out and buy a book of 10 metro bus tickets to keep on hand. If they come around looking for bus money, just give them some bus tickets. HAHA, if they really needed to get home, then they're good to go. If they wanted money just to spend...well, maybe they'll think twice about what they're asking for!
I've also had people come up to me in store parking lots with stories about being stranded. First time it happened, I believed the person. Second time, it was so similar, even though it was different people, I didn't. I do like to help people but it can be difficult when there are scammers. I'm sure I've sometimes given money to people who weren't being honest. But maybe that's not a totally bad thing...
Yeah, these girls stopped at our house yesterday in North Delridge. Two girls came to the door and the rest were waiting on the sidewalk. Two different girls went up to our neighbor's house.
