Received a call today regarding a couple that is desperately seeking a temporary foster home for their two adult cats. This couple is now homeless and do not want to surrender their cats to a shelter. Once their unemployment goes through they will be able to find housing and take their cats back.

Since pets are accepted at Nickelsville, we provided them with the camp phone number and are keeping are paws crossed for the people and their cats.

In the meantime, we are trying to arrange a backup plan by finding a temp foster home. If you can help, please contact us at furryfaces@hotmail.com or 206-321-4729. Thank you!

  3. My downstairs is empty and I can house these cats for these people. I would greatly appreciated it if you would just give them my number directly so I can move forward asap. I have the day off tomorrow and get the cats as soon as tomorrow to help these people and cats.

Pamela, Thank you for your kind, generous offer! These folks are going to be both thrilled and relieved. We just called and left your name and contact information for them.

If the two cats need any assistance with cat food and litter, please let us know and we will help. Cheers, F3

  5. I am picking up the cats today, if they are the same people of course. Thanks for the offer of food, ect, but I think I can handle that.

  8. And FCAT volunteers are on point for extra "loves" - win-win :) Here's hoping for a more permanent solution soon so the whole family can be together again!

  9. Update: Well the cats are not eating with me. So the only reason they had to give up the cats was a cat deposit of $50.00 per week. SO FCAT is just going to pay that to get the cats back to them.

When cats don't eat for long periods of time they get something called fat liver disease which for the most part is terminal.

  10. Furryfaces,
can donations be made through you so Hammerhead doesn't have to use her money and so this couple doesn't use so much of their own limited income to pay the weekly pet deposit at the motel?

  12. a quick clarification: I picked up the next 2 weeks, their dad paid for 2 weeks also, and I guess by then their unemployment will kick in.

At least they are doing what they can to keep the cats.

they can NOT find housing with some many people needing house ect, they are low on the list I am sure.

ps I don't want any money this is about the cats and they were not doing well with me. so i did what I needed to do for the cats and even them:)
