Hi All,
You're all such a good source of info that I thought I'd try. Before the digital switchover, I got all NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, UPN 11, FOX 13.1 and 13.2, and MyQ2. Now that the switch has happened, I get all of them EXCEPT PBS, UPN 11 and FOX 13.1 and 13.2. Very odd since I know they were digital before as they would sometimes get "garbled" as only digital does.
Anyone else having issues with these channels? Thanks for the help!

Did you re-scan for channels after the change over?

Ha, thanks lazybeard...I had but it just didn't work..tried it again out of hope and voila! Not sure why most channels stayed working and some needed to be re-scanned and even though they are the same exact channel numbers as before, only a re-scan made the work. I'll never understand but I thank you for "forcing" me to try again. Thanks!

I would of thought the same thing, "nothing's changed, really" but I read on another forum to do the re-scan to re-populate everything.

KCTS and Channel 11 work off the First Hill transmitters which are a tad sunken below the horizon in relation to West Seattle. Depending on where you live in WS their signals are more affected by our hills than the signals coming off the towers on Queen Anne.
Homer, we have an HD antenna for over the air, and we also have Cablevision's limited basic cable. I just checked, and with the HD antenna we also do not get 11, 13.1 and 13.2 - I hadn't even realized. We do get 11 and 13 on cable. We also are getting blurry reception on 11 on cable. Actually, my husband just pointed out that we do not get any of the channels with the antenna that aren't a .1, .2, etc. channel (i.e., we don't get 5, but we get 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3). But we definitely don't get 13.1 or 13.2 on the antenna.
Dumb question #1:
With your remote, how do you dial up 13.1 or 13.2 or 5.2 or 5.2 or 5.3. Any of the channels that have the decimal.
I have comcast, so didn't need to do anything for the digital changeoverand don't have comcast's migration box hooked up as of yet.
Jo, our TV remote happens to have a "-" as one of the keys, so I would dial 5-1 to get 5.1. I have no idea how you'd do it directly if you didn't have the - key; we can also get them by channel surfing up and down.
I also had to re-scan last Friday to get channels 9, 11 & 13. For KCTS, the explanation on their website was "it's because we switched digital channels from UHF 41 to VHF 9."
Channel 11 is now a weaker signal, probably because of our location downhill from California.
We did rescan, BTW, and still don't get those channels. Weird.
I could be wrong but with Digital quite often it is all or nothing. When I am tuning up digital satellites there is a point where either you get it or not. With Analog you might get ghosting but not so with Digital. I do not have an answer other than getting the round antenna or having your antenna higher.
This morning I scanned again to see if I might get the channels I'm missing. I didn't, but I did see a fuzzy channel 5 which was a DTV Answers channel run by Kiro TV, and it said that if you're seeing this channel, that means that your equipment wasn't ready for the conversion. Which is surprising since I have a newer digital TV, and I do get quite a few of the digital channels. So it seems that maybe I do have some hybrid version of working and not working. However, since I also have limited basic cable, I can just switch that on and get what I need. I'll admit it would be annoying to lose channels if I only had the TV and no cable.
