LHMemberI have a friend who lives down on 3 Tree Point who saw it. She said it was like a giant inner tube with vertical ridges in the hole, moving NW toward Vashon. She is certain that it was alien and not a balloon.
I don’t know about an alien space craft but something happened. I wander if the SeaTac tower picked it up on radar
Kind of SPOOKY

LHMemberThanks for the link Andy
Holy SHIP! I just googled the “Maury Is incident of 1947” Maybe she did see something!

JayDeeParticipantWell, let’s certainly assume it is of alien manufacture rather than it was a balloon or Remote controlled airship.

And with the light southerly winds last night, a man-made object could easily float NW from Des Moines Marina or Redondo. While man-made objects are 99.9% more likely, aliens are probably responsible.

WSBKeymasterMost of the time, when people write us about UFOs, what they’re seeing are Sky Lanterns. However, I got one report (only thing I’ve heard about it till this forum post) mentioning a “sharp right turn,” unlikely for a Sky Lantern.
The truth is out there.

cjboffoliParticipantI know that if I were an alien who had just traveled 2,700 light years from home it would be top priority to head right over to: VASHON ISLAND.
June 18, 2013 at 1:52 am #791975
miwsParticipantPerhaps their version of Google Maps miscalculated how long it would take them to travel 2,700 light years, (or traffic was an absolute breeze!)and they’re more than a month early for the Vashon Island Strawberry Festival?

I saw something strange over Georgetown a few years back. Sitting outside at breaktime, the weekend of Seafair, I noticed a small silver round object staying in the same exact spot for almost 30 minutes. I thought it might be a mylar balloon at first, but when I used the side of our building to judge if it was moving or stationary, That thing didnt move at all. One other person came outside and I pointed it out to him, so I have a witness.

JanSParticipantperhaps they were here just for the festivities :D

dcnParticipantThere are several mentions of “green guys” in the blog forums today. I think the UFO must have dropped off some of THEM on the way to Vashon.

mphoteMemberYes, I did see it over KVI beach early Monday morning, 1AM or so and I have seen one of these before. I saw one of these doughnut things off of Dolphin Point in the fall 1963. I hadn’t really thought about it since then, until I recently heard about the incident in 1947 and this most resent sighting. I don’t know what these things are but I can say this is No balloon or sky lantern.
I’m NOT saying little green men or flying saucers. I’m just saying there is a history of these things and the reported accounts are too similar to dismiss.

waynsterParticipantAre they out there lets check it out… here you go lmao….

dhgParticipantAnything silvery with no visible doors is likely an Apple product. The fact that they were over Vashon would indicate they were using Apple maps .

JayDeeParticipantThe Aliens could have received our 1910+ radio signals, and the 1940 to 2010 TV signals. But at worst, while we may have attracted attention from a 110 light years, but it is probable this envelope was 50 light years wide due to the decrease in signal strength with distance, especially with HDTV which is low power and relies on knowledge to decode. In 1963 these would be hipster aliens first on the scene, and in 2013, they would ironic hipsters making sure they really were cool arriving here in 1963, and relishing the fact that they were/are cool.

mphoteMemberDude
First accounts of this type of UFO were in 47. Before cool/hipster, I might add.
Then Rainier then Roswell, all in 1947. Look it up, all very similar reports. I personally shy away from the flying saucer thing but it is clear, something is being seen.
What? I don’t know
June 19, 2013 at 3:23 am #791985
lindaParticipantVashon commuters tired of dealing with the ferry system testing an alternative at a time when they would attract the least amount of attention from other commuters in order to avoid creating a demand in advance? (She says with a wink and a nudge being a former ferry commuter.)

Harold DahlMemberI know what it was, because I saw SIX of them on June 21, 1947!
And now, they’re making a movie about my experience:
