There was an early back and forth on the blog about these shirts for dogs...someone was going to order some that night..JoB??...I was wondering if you did and how it works. Or has anyone else ever tried them. I am thinking about ordering one for my naughty boy, Scruffy, who is a barker.

I have never used the Thundershirt before but often recommend Tshirts for older dogs with anxiety. The results have been amazing for anxiety! The thundershirt looks a little easier to use but a plain used human Tshirt will work well as long as it fits pretty closely to the body.
If anyone is interested here is an article on working with older dogs with anxiety I wrote for my clients. Many of the ideas will also help younger dogs:-)

Re previous posts on anxious dogs, I did purchase one. He seems calmer on walks when he wears it, only whining instead of the explosive barking.

I board dogs in my home and New Years along with the 4th of July is a tough one. Some dogs are more stressed than others but in my neighborhood it seems to go on for days. Holding and calming up to 3 dogs (my maximum) is not always possible.
I purchased the Thundershirt and it is everything it claims. A couple of my 'thoroughbred' dogs ~aka Terriers... you know who you are :-)~tend to shiver for no particular reason and also if they are nervous or chilled, especially as they age.
Recently an older female rat terrier was here and shivering so I put it on her. Worked like a charm. Snug as a bug in a rug. I even let her sleep in it she was so comfy. It was a matter of seconds and she nestled right down for a nap. She normally will not tolerate wearing a sweater! Her human was thrilled and went right home to order one.
I will be getting more in assorted sizes for the 4th of July and for any of my dogs that need just a little more sense of self assurance. Cookies, milk(bone), story time and Thundershirt for my grand dogs.

PS When you send your dog to be boarded somewhere, or have to leave them home or somewhere else for extended periods,I would recommend using it. You may have to educated the caregiver but they will love it once they see how happy it makes the dog!
Certainly you should make sure of fit and appropriateness for your dog. It is an expensive product. Mine arrived in just a couple of days from placing the order.
not so expensive.. less than $40, i think...
i admit to paying that once for a very good halter for my little escape artist... thankfully, these days he wears one a lot longer before chewing it apart...

ordered mine yesterday for my greyhound. i'm the one who mentioned my friend getting two and how they changed her dog's life. my dog suffers separation anxiety and i can't wait for it to arrive to calm her. i have heard so many success stories. i hope mine will be the same! i will keep you posted.
I just ordered a Thundershirt a few days ago, thanks to the earlier discussion. K, I also have a greyhound! We should compare notes. My hound has separation anxiety and I can't wait to see how the shirt works. I also keep meaning to start a thread on organizing a WS greyhound playgroup, as there are quite a few hound owners here. That's another topic...

to k & anonyme: yes, please post with your results. Our older girl started separation anxiety issues and we haven't been able to leave her alone at home for months. Hope you're successfull!
