Saw that a few days ago. It's crazy out there!
Not really sure what the point was. Yep, there's a lot of people out there using all those "crazy" intersections. Nope, not everyone obeys all the rules.
Why are we all in such a hurry to get where we are going? In such a hurry that we put our lives and the lives/well being of others in harms way.
[Good question, maude.]
The filmmaker's point was that people need to get up to speed with the new traffic paradigm in NYC. Folks think Seattle's got it bad with confusion over bike and pedestrian right-of-way? Fuhgeddaboudit!
To me, the film was interesting from the standpoins of both traffic systems and human psychology. It would be even cooler if we could see little thought bubbles over the people's heads revealing what they were thinking as they were ploughing into each other.
I also learned a new term: "aggressive yield."
How's that for an oxymoron? Reminds of a girl I knew in high school. But that's a topic for another post . . .
