luckymom30ParticipantI just found this on Facebook:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/92218378@N03/?saved=1
Kismet needs our help! He was found by a family near Palm Desert on I-5 when they were driving back to Tacoma. They saved him and brought him home. He has a severe skin infection, urinary tract infection and was also limping. We had him brought into our Vet and it was found he has a broken leg. This poor guy has been through so much, but is still very sweet, loving and deserving of a fresh start. His surgery will cost $1300 and we can’t afford it right now. Would you please consider donating to help Kismet get healthy again? You can either donate through WePay via this link, or call in donations straight to our Vet. If you want to donate directly to the vet, call them at 206-242-8338 and say you’d like to put it on AARF’s account for Kismet. Thank you so much for your help! https://www.wepay.com/donations/kismet-s-surgery

funkietooParticipantLuckymom30…thanks for posting the info about Kismet–you beat me to it! I just donated $50.00 towards his care.
January 14, 2013 at 8:23 pm #782974
luckymom30ParticipantWe are donating too and I hope that everyone who can will donate to help pay for Kismet’s surgery.
Bump!

yikesMemberI’d like to help out too… what method did you use and do you trust the mepay route?
January 14, 2013 at 10:03 pm #782976
funkietooParticipantThanks yikes! I used the wepay.com route; yes, I trust it. Thanks again.
January 14, 2013 at 10:03 pm #782977
luckymom30ParticipantUse the weblink above WEPAY is a very safe way to donate.
January 14, 2013 at 10:40 pm #782978
funkietooParticipantJust took a peek at Kismet’s Wepay account. Holy Cow! $865.00 has been donated so far! Let’s keep it going for Kismet.
Thanks again to AARF for taking this boy in and getting him the medical attention he needs.
January 14, 2013 at 10:57 pm #782979
luckymom30ParticipantMoney raised so far is now at $895.00, only $405 left and we have reached the goal for Kismet.

biankatParticipantVery happy to help out. What a little sweetie face!
January 14, 2013 at 11:51 pm #782981
luckymom30ParticipantBumpe! Almost there!
January 14, 2013 at 11:53 pm #782982
tom kelleyParticipantI’m really trying to process this. I’ve been withholding posting while thinking about it. A little over two hours almost a thousand dollars raised. For a stray dog. I’m trying to put this in context. I’m recalling the suspicions, the accusations, the licensing issues, when a call went out a few weeks ago for help getting beds for some foster kids in need. Does this tell us anything about ourselves?
January 15, 2013 at 12:39 am #782983
birdrescuerParticipantActully, there is a lot more accountabilty with this. The other was very unclear.
January 15, 2013 at 12:45 am #782984
tom kelleyParticipantbird I would direct you to the opening line of the OP, “I found this on facebook”. I fail to see where there is any accountability.

luckymom30ParticipantTom – If you happen to have a Facebook account please look up AARF and you will see that it is a legimate organization. For you I copied yes from Facebook the information below, feel free to call or email them to find out more ways you can support their cause:

tom kelleyParticipantThank you.
January 15, 2013 at 1:07 am #782987
luckymom30Participant$300.00 to go!
January 15, 2013 at 2:40 am #782988
furryfacesParticipantWhoop! Whoop! Almost there! Thanks everyone!
January 15, 2013 at 3:31 am #782989
luckymom30ParticipantWhen I saw this story and the picture of Kismet I immediately thought of posting it on West Seattle Blog knowing our wonderful community would help.
furryfaces please let us all know how Kismet is doing after surgery.
January 15, 2013 at 3:33 am #782990
luckymom30ParticipantYes!!! We all made this happen for Kismet!
January 15, 2013 at 5:23 am #782991
yikesMemberI just came in from choir practice and checked in the account…. we are over… but don’t you think Kismet will need some toys and treats while recouperating?????
January 15, 2013 at 6:45 am #782992
funkietooParticipantThe $1300 was to cover his surgery. He also needs treatment for his skin condition and an infection, so I’m sure $$ over and above $1300 will be greatly appreciated. Remember, AARF’S is a 501 C 3.
January 16, 2013 at 4:52 am #782993
luckymom30ParticipantUpdate: Kismet is being fostered by the family that found him, but he will need a good and l
oving forever home.
January 16, 2013 at 5:27 pm #782994
furryfacesParticipant@Luckymom30, we’re in constant contact with AARF (about lots of things ;0) so will update as soon as we know anything. If you hear something on Kismet’s surgery before us, please post.
Again…thanks to everyone that helped little Kismet; to the people that rescued, and are fostering him; and to AARF for accepting him into their group–even when you weren’t sure how you were going to pay for his medical needs. We love you all.
