skeeterParticipantI’m part German and part Italian. But I love Olive Garden once in a while!
Mostly I love hearing stories like this. People doing really silly stuff because they can.

wakefloodParticipantSo, Skeets, does that mean you watch “Extreme Couponing”??? ;-)
Which brings me to a question I have about that stuff. I can barely get my coupons to count at the register so I’ve almost given up. Seems like I need the wrong size or it’s expired or it can’t be combined with anything or HAS to be combined with something, etc., etc. And it’s never as big a discount as these people seem to rack up.
There must be some kind of arrangement with the store or something, right? This isn’t something anybody can do, is it?

JoBParticipantwake..
anybody can..
they just have to be willing to spend an incredible amount of time reading the fine print and purchase a lot of things they didn’t really need to do so
i thought about it when i was busy trying to be a one woman army feeding our local homeless population.. but in the end it didn’t seem worthwhile
when cutting your bill is your first priority you end up with too many products no-one wants:(

skeeterParticipantI’ve never watched “extreme couponing.” I’m guessing that’s some reality show? (Too lazy to look it up.)
I enjoy a good deal, but like JoB have little interest in coupons. Seems like you can spend a lot of time and effort to “save” a small amount of money. I do most shopping at Costco, Target, Fred Meyer, and sale items at QFC and Safeway. We live a pretty simple life (for Seattle, at least) so we are easily in our budget.
I do, however, sometimes use coupons at restaurants. And every year I get a free burger at Red Robin for my bday from my rewards card.
Speaking of bargains – the Mrs and I are taking a cruise out of Miami later this fall. I can’t believe how affordable an off-season cruise is. It’s a very relaxing vacation at a super attractive price as long as you go easy on the alcohol and stay away from the casino. I love being on a ship exploring new waters.

wakefloodParticipantHey man, enjoy the warm weather. We’ll be back here looking skyward for the occasional glimpse of the golden orb. :-)
