Thanksgiving dinner or buffet (at a restaurant)?

  1. Looking at a quiet Thanksgiving at home this year, and I'm not sure I want to cook. I found this thread from last year: http://westseattleblog.com/blog/forum/topic.php?id=2085

... but I thought I'd start a new thread for fresh commentary, perhaps from folks who weren't reading the Forums last year.

    Thanks in advance!

  2. We were thinking of closing for the day and having an orphan Turkey Day potluck if anyone is interested.

  3. We'd totally be up for that. You have our email, and I'm sure we'll come by this weekend. (The boy has been grounded, thus our recent scarcity...)

  5. I drove by the Claim Juumper at Southcenter this last weekend and they had a banner out front advertising they were open on Thanksgiving and were offering up a Thansgiving type buffet for guests, fwiw...

  6. We have eaten at Salty's a few times on Thanksgiving and really enjoyed it. The buffet offers the traditional favorites (turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, etc.) as well as prime rib, ham, pasta, seafood, and on and on.. and on... and on... plus desserts! The atmosphere is festive and pleasant, too.

However, one year I called for reservations after Halloween and was not able to get a table at Alki. We ended up going to their Redondo Beach location, which did not have the ample spread that they do at Alki.

So, if you are interested in going, I recommend calling now.
