  1. Anyone have any recommendations for android tablets? looking for one for my sister in law and the simpler the better to use would be good. We have a Kindle Fire HD but you cant customize how the desktop is set up and she is not going to use to stream much or buy many books. Mostly web surfing and facebook ect maybe the occasional skype call. primarily looking at android because of the cost of the ipad

I have a xoom I love most the features but was suprised that it can't load flash video which means no amazon prime movies or most home videos on facebook. It does run the netfix app. But not well. The shows and movies play fine but the menu lags so the touch screen is useless. You have to type into the netfix search engine each selection to really get what you want. Sound is good. It does multi app task well.

I have an Asus Transformer Pad TF300 and I love it. Comes preloaded with incredible software, Quad Core CPU, best camera on a tablet AND it's expandable with an SD card.

I'm with muchlove on this one! I've had an Asus TF101 tablet and (detachable keyboard) for about 18 months and I LOVE it!

Great for everything from surfing the internet, email, facebook... to watching movies on netflix... I wondered if I should put out the extra $ for the keyboard when I was researching tablets, very glad I did as I use it 99.9% of the time with the keyboard attached.

I would get a nexus 7. It is a very good tablet. The 16gb wifi is $199 but is currently sold out. The 32gb wifi is $249 and ships within a week. The 32gb wifi hspa+ is $299 and ships within a week as well.

Clark- UW offers an excellent service to people with disabilities and accessing technology. Provail is also a company in Seattle who can help with accessing technology. (Getting a w/c mount, changing the icon size, etc) Also, look at the MS foundation....they may have recommendations. Regardless of the features, she may need help accessing the device. Good Luck!
