ellenaterMemberHi all.
Have been thinking of starting up a FB group for garden veggies, eggs, compost, etc. exchange here in West Seattle. The group would have a buy, sell, trade, gift option. Very basic. I am just wondering if there is interest. Here is a survey if you would like to participate:

Cheers!

JoBParticipanti love this idea.. and would dearly love to find a source for truly local eggs.. but my health greatly impairs my ability to participate in a reliable fashion:(
but i do have a bumper crop of celery :)

ellenaterMemberThanks, for taking that JoB. I know there are other egg exchange groups, etc, but they are city wide and kind of barren. I don’t know if this would work or not but I know there is some interest. It would probably be on FB though.

transplantellaParticipantI would be interested in the exchange, but not in Facebook – won’t touch it.
Isn’t there some other medium of communication that could be used instead? Reddit maybe? A craigslist group?

ellenaterMemberThanks for your replies! Looking into all options. Someone posted on the survey that there already is a group on FB but I have only been able to find Farmstr through Seattle Farm Co-op. If there is another, hyper local group I’d love to hear about it.

back2wsParticipantIt’s not on FB, but try https://seattle.ubrlocal.com/. It’s Seattle-wide, but you can see where each person is located. I’ve made some great produce/egg trades through there.

kurly212Participantellenater, maybe the FB group to which the person was referring is “Connecting directly with Farmers in Seattle.” I joined a few days ago, but so far everything that’s been posted has to be picked up in Kirkland. I would love to join a group that’s much closer. I already took your survey. :-)
