   Rush hour driver #1, why the angry look when I had to wave my arms to catch your attention so you didn't run over me in the crosswalk? and
   Rush hour driver #2, was it necessary to shout at me, about driver #1, "Well, it was HER TURN!!!"

   To a fault, I will stop for people crossing a street in crosswalks, out of crosswalks, at unmarked crosswalks, even if it means waiting through two "turns." And I am still shocked when somebody two cars back doesn't figure out "uh, maybe we're waiting for somebody to cross the street" and honks wildly. No matter how insanely busy we all are, we can wait a couple minutes to let someone cross the street safely .. just the same way we hope somebody will stop for us next time we have to cross.

   Majority of people only think of themselves and don't know what it takes to be congenial. That's happened to me before walking at a crosswalk with another driver honking several cars behind.

   I agree with TR; taking that extra time to be courteous without regard to whether the ped is 'right' or 'wrong' just is a good thing to do. My only hesitation is when a car coming up behind me is too far away to comprehend the situation; in that case, I usually turn the 4-way flashers on to get their attention. I also keep an eye out for cars that may be trying to go around me; I've saved more than one ped by honking at them before they stepped into danger.

   Yes, thanks, TR, for your comment. red/black, it was a driver traveling W on Alaska St, taking a left onto rd by Jef.Sq. Safeway. Big wide left turn for the driver, but broad daylight and I had the signal and was dead-on in front of her car and she wasn't slowing down. So it was a bit scary and their reactions just seemed strange.
