The handy person left the back door ajar and this morning a thinner, but wiser, spot showed up at the foot of the bed. As if he'd never left.

My grandfather taught us a little ditty:
    "The cat came back,
    He never went away.
He was sitting on the front porch
    The very next day."

Glad to read that the handyman's error worked out to be in the Charlabob's favor.

  14. See Spot mysteriously disappear.
See Spot stay away for over two weeks.
See Spot return Home, as mysteriously as he disappeared.
See happy times at the Charla/Bob/Katsky House!
    Yay Spot!

Spot just got back from Lien animal -- he survived the indignity of shots and got a clean bill of health. Next? A cat bath! Folks at Lien were wonderful (as many of you have said.) Here's hoping this is the beginning of a homecoming parade of cats (Franci!), dogs and chickens.

Did you give Katsy a good lecture (along with many hugs) about leaving the confines of the house and yard? are you going to fit electronic bell to warn you when he is thinking of running away again?

    Glad he is back!

He's not an outdoor cat (and he's declawed) -- makes it much more amazing that he survived. The vet said he's obviously an alpha cat -- duh, just ask roada and noam -- they knew it all along.

We did get collars and tags for everyone; even though they don't go out, just in case --- Mostly hugs, very few lectur4es yet.

  20. I'm thrilled he came home - I don't know what I'd do if my furry little guy went missing. Happy New Year indeed!

  21. We have gates at both the front and back doors to keep our two cats from darting outside. It's a hassle and not very attractive but there is no other way we can keep them inside. One of them has been an outdoor cat in the past, and she hates having to stay indoors. At times she sits near the door and cries to go out. I feel bad for her. But with raccoons living in the backyard and coyotes in our alley, we just don't want to take a chance. Really too bad.

Wow, I'm surprised your kittys don't jump those gates. Good for you for looking out for their best interests.

  24. I can just see an impatient spot katsky stopping by regularly to see if you had thought to open the door for him yet ;-)
