I've lived here for several years, taking the lower bridge almost every day, but had never seen it in action. If anyone else has ever wondered how the bridge works, here's a video that I found really interesting.

Thanks for that, Halyn! That was interesting and informative.
I, too, have rarely seen the bridge open up, (mostly because the buses use the high bridge) and only knew of the operational basics that were discussed back around the time the bridge was being designed and built.
