Next year my son will be going to middle school as a Special Education student. I am on a mission to collect as much information as I can about each of these middles schools to ensure that my son will continue to progress and have a good experience with school. I am looking for any parents that have or had children who went through Special Education at either of these school and if you could share your experience, your opinion and any info possible with me. I would really appreciate it. Thanks

  2. I can't help you because I am looking also. From what I've found is that Madison is mostly all inclusion where Denny is all self contained.

Based on our experience (current 7th grader at Madison), Madison uses an inclusion model but does have a separate "General Studies Skills" class in lieu of electives in 7th and 8th grades for students who may benefit from them. In our case, our student has an IEP for a specific learning disability, not very high-needs, so things may be different depending on your students' level of need. I'd be happy to discuss our experience in more detail; you can reach me at herongrrrl @ yahoo dot com.
